(Mt. Holly, NJ) – Mark Warren, campaign manager for John Adler's campaign in New Jersey's 3rd District released the following statement regarding tonight's congressional race debate between John Adler and Mayor Chris Myers.

"Tonight's debate was a clear victory for John Adler in the race for the 3rd District congressional seat. There were stark differences between the two candidates. While Mayor Myers seemed to take the votes of veterans for granted, John Adler spoke about the issues that matter most to veterans and their families. John had a clear grasp of those concerns and told the veterans what he will do to address them in Washington. His was a positive message of fresh and innovative ideas. By contrast, Mayor Myers resorted to the worn-out, failed George Bush political playbook - lobbing personal attacks and negative comments that had nothing to do with improving services to our veterans.

"Mayor Myers' made it crystal clear in tonight's debate that we should stay the course in Iraq indefinitely, while hard-working middle-class families foot the $10 billion-a-month bill for this flawed strategy. Furthermore, Mayor Myers' made it apparent that he has no plan to provide health insurance for all Americans. And he refused to apologize for raising taxes to the highest level in the history of Medford.

“And just when you thought that was bad enough, he refused to denounce his mentor and #1 supporter in Washington -- George W. Bush. No wonder Senator McCain and countless other community organizations from cops to firefighters to recreational fishermen and environmentalists continue to reject his failed tax and spend agenda.

"John Adler’s detailed, forward-looking discussion of the issues facing the nation provided a clear contrast to Mayor Myers and shows why he will be the best advocate in Washington for 3rd District voters."

NJ Environmental Federation Endorses John Adler for Congress

Another Saxton backer goes to Adler

(Lavallette, NJ) – The New Jersey Environmental Federation (NJEF), the NJ Chapter of Clean Water Action with over 100,000 members in NJ, endorsed John Adler, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Congress today for New Jersey's 3rd District. The NJEF has previously endorsed and supported Republican Jim Saxton but today joins ranks with the Recreational Fishing Alliance, the Sierra Club, Teamsters, Firefighters, the FOP and the PBA all of which now support the Democrat, John Adler.

"I am honored to have the support of the thousands of members of the NJ Environmental Federation. As a long time member of the Senate Environment Committee, I have tried to be an advocate on behalf of the environment by working to preserve open space and protecting the health of millions of New Jerseyans by enacting the Smoke Free Air Act," said Adler.

Dave Pringle, the NJEF Campaign Director said "Like Jim Saxton, Senator Adler has been a true advocate for the environment throughout his public career. He has been a leader in New Jersey in introducing and co sponsoring legislation like the Clean Cars Act, and the Global Warming Response Act, and in Congress John will lead the fight to reduce our nation's reliance on foreign oil which has and will continue to destroy the environment."

Adler was joined today by Pringle and members of the NJ Environmental Federation today at Barnegat Bay to stress the need for real reform in Washington, and that the best man to bring about this change is John Adler. Pringle added, "Voters of the 3rd District have a choice this November in moving this country in the right direction. Voting for John Adler will be a vote against continuing the George Bush policies of the last 8 years that have taken a harmful toll on our environment and our nation."

Jane Nogaki, of Marlton, and an NJEF Board Member added "As a State Senator, John Adler has a proven record of advancing open space, clean air and water, and public health protections in New Jersey. From Cherry Hill and Mt. Holly to Toms River, we need a new generation of leaders who will fight for change in the wake of the destructive anti-environmental policies of the Bush Administration.

National Republicans ditch Myers because of failed tax & spend pay-to-play record

Even John McCain and national GOP can't live with Myers; Is it any wonder 3rd District can't

For Immediate Release: September 8, 2008

(Mt. Laurel, NJ) – Mark Warren, the campaign manager for John Adler's campaign in New Jersey's 3rd District released the following statement in response to the Asbury Park Press story published yesterday (link below):

"In accepting the Republican presidential nomination last week, John McCain maintained that he would take on big spenders and corruption - even if it meant in his own party. It appears that Senator McCain and the national Republican Party are taking that pledge seriously - at least in New Jersey's 3rd congressional district. They have abandoned the campaign of their party's candidate, career-politician Chris Myers, whose tax-and- spend record, participation in pay-to-play deals, and callous refusal to stand up to the culture of corruption in the Burlington County GOP would give their party a political black eye. Getting cut loose by the national leaders in his own party clearly shows that Mayor Myers' negative campaign and record of higher taxes and spending fit the profile for what Sen. McCain singled out in his convention speech. Seems that while McCain stood with Mayor Myers in June, the GOP presidential nominee had a change of heart when he learned about the real Chris Myers.

"As Mayor of Medford, Myers oversaw the largest tax increase in the town's history in 2004. Since 2002, Mayor Myers has voted to increase the township tax levy by over 60%, and he voted to increase the bloated Medford budget by over 50%.

"There are fundamental differences in this election. As John Adler travels the district speaking to voters, he continues to hear the same thing: our families are suffering and the economy needs a jumpstart. Incredibly, Mayor Myers claims that "the economy is basically strong." Myers also has blinders on when it comes to Iraq. On Iraq, John Adler believes we need to find a responsible end to the War and bring our troops home. Mayor Myers believes "we just need to make it look like we've won." The voters in the 3rd District are seeing the real Mayor Myers, a tax and spend mayor and George Bush apologist."

Adler: SCHIP decision victory for NJ Families

(Mt. Laurel, NJ) -- John Adler, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Congress in New Jersey's 3rd District released the following statement today regarding President Bush's decision on Friday not to enforce an August 2007 directive to cap State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) eligibility requirements:

"Friday's decision is a victory for hardworking New Jersey families throughout the state. I am glad to see the President change his mind for the benefit of lower and middle income families who are struggling to cover the cost of healthcare for their children.

"The State Children's Health Insurance Program is designed to cover uninsured children in working poor and middle class families that are slightly above the income level for Medicaid. Last year the President vetoed re-authorization of the program twice, and left hundreds of thousands of kids nationwide vulnerable to living with no healthcare. Likewise, the President imposed illegal and immoral regulations that would have immediately resulted in over 10,000 children losing their healthcare coverage.

"Keeping this program alive is vital for making sure that thousands of New Jersey's children continue to receive the care that they need. Cuts to the program planned by the President last year would have been disastrous for New Jersey.

"In October of last year, I stood with leaders from across the state to urge Congress to override the President's veto of this important legislation, because it was both morally and fiscally wrong. Now, months later, I am gratified that the President has acknowledged his mistake and sided with the children and families who will benefit from this program. This is precisely the kind of issue that prompted me to run for Congress. Our working families need leadership in Washington that recognizes their needs and responds to them. As the 3rd District Congressman, I will fight to keep critical programs like SCHIP alive for all families in New Jersey and across the country."

While Myers stands with big business, Adler stands with 3rd District families

Republican Candidate's Comments Further Unmask His Alliance
With Special Interests

For Immediate Release: August 14, 2008

(Mt. Laurel, NJ) - Mayor Chris Myers again demonstrated his contempt for middle-class Americans yesterday by criticizing efforts to hold polluters accountable and continuing to absolve President Bush of responsibility for unprecedented high gas prices. Mark Warren, the campaign manager for John Adler, the Democratic nominee in New Jersey's 3rd Congressional District, said Myers' comments yesterday further revealed what we already know: If elected, Chris Myers will go to Washington to continue the failed policies of the George W. Bush administration.

"Mayor Myers, an incurable practioner of the old politics-as-usual blame game, continues to blame John Adler for every problem under the sun," Warren said. "Yet he staunchly sides with George W. Bush and his cronies in big oil companies at every turn. It is truly remarkable that while middle-class families in the 3rd District are struggling to fill up their gas tanks, Myers stands with big business special interests.

"In his ridiculous press release yesterday, Mayor Myers referenced a bill that increased the assessment on the transportation of certain hazardous chemicals to increase funding for state-sponsored cleanup programs. The rate had not been raised since 1987. Why would Mayor Myers object to asking transporters of hazardous materials to pay their fair share in the cleanup of spills? Can he possibly believe that those who cause the discharge of hazardous materials shouldn't be held accountable?

"If Mayor Myers is looking for someone to blame for high gas prices, he should be pointing the finger at the President, who has stood by and done NOTHING while the price of oil has quadrupled at a cost of hundreds of billions of dollars. And he has looked the other way as Big Oil has reaped enormous profits at the expense of lower and middle class residents.

"John Adler has a record of promoting alternative energy. And he has put forth a responsible plan to satisfy America's energy needs. Mayor Myers, on the other hand, has chosen to go to bat for polluters and stand by a President whose glaring failure to promote energy independence is causing enormous suffering among middle class working families in the 3rd District."
